Introducing instructor Elli Dubendorf (Maureen will be assisting):
"I first got into agility with my dog when I joined Happy Hounds Dog 4-H club, here on South Whidbey. I have 7 years of experience, including competing at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup while I was still a member. Since aging out of 4-H, I have stayed involved with the club by helping teach the younger kids. More recently, I have also started to compete at AKC agility trials. I am working on becoming a dog trainer, learning a ton from shadowing and assisting Maureen. I am currently attending Northwest School of Canine Studies to obtain a dog training certificate. I’m looking forward to teaching Agility for Fun and Skills!"
Limit: 6 dogs
Prerequisites:
Your dog should be at least one year of age
Your dog MUST be dog-friendly
You dog should already have been introduced to rewards based training and know the basic obedience cues (sit, down, stay, wait, and loose leash walking). Sit-stay is a particularly important prerequisite.
No prior agility classes – if you’ve already taken an agility class and wish to continue your education, please contact Jerry Lloyd or Vicki Machuga.
We will be training outdoors! Dress for the weather.
